Job Description
The Sourcing & Category Manager will support the development and execution of sourcing and category strategies that align with organizational goals, improve operational performance, and maximize value. This individual will work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and senior leadership while managing vendor relationships and sourcing initiatives from end to end.
Assist in developing and implementing sourcing and category strategies to optimize cost, improve efficiency, and support enterprise objectives
Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and cost drivers to inform sourcing strategies, including pricing models and contract terms
Execute sourcing activities, including RFPs, negotiations, and contract development, ensuring favorable terms are achieved and documented
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing initiatives with business goals, project plans, and financial objectives
Apply data-driven methodologies such as benchmarking, spend analysis, and competitive assessments to support decision-making
Manage sourcing projects using established processes and tools to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency
Monitor vendor performance, mitigate risk, and ensure adherence to contractual obligations and organizational standards
Drive cost savings initiatives and track performance outcomes through regular stakeholder engagement
Effectively manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience
4+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or vendor management with a degree, or 8+ years of relevant experience without a degree
Experience working with senior leadership and cross-functional teams
Strong understanding of sourcing processes and contract lifecycle management
Proven experience participating in large, cross-functional projects or programs
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Power BI
Experience with vendor management tools, spend analysis, and data-driven decision-making
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the healthcare industry, particularly sourcing vendor services such as payment integrity, clinical operations, STARS, affordability, actuarial services, or related technology platforms
Familiarity with compliance and risk management frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, HITRUST)
Relevant certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional)
Project management certification (e.g., PMP or equivalent)
Experience with procurement and ERP tools such as ZIP, Oracle, or ADP
