Commercial Real Estate Asset Management Associate
Opportunity Overview
A leading institutional investment manager specializing in credit and real estate investments is seeking an Associate to join its Commercial Real Estate Asset Management team. The platform invests across a broad range of credit strategies and manages a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate debt investments nationwide.
This role offers significant exposure to the full lifecycle of commercial real estate lending, including portfolio management, loan administration, financial analysis, borrower interaction, and cross-functional collaboration. The position provides a clear path for professional growth within a highly experienced team environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of commercial real estate loans and underlying collateral across multiple property types.
• Review operating budgets, business plans, financial reporting packages, and portfolio performance metrics.
• Assist with loan administration activities, including construction draws, reserve disbursements, modifications, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
• Analyze leases, loan agreements, and other legal documentation to support asset management decisions.
• Build and maintain financial models, including cash flow analyses, return metrics, and valuation assessments.
• Support investor reporting, internal portfolio reviews, and credit committee presentations.
• Maintain portfolio-level reporting and data management for internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate with borrowers, third-party service providers, and internal teams to ensure effective portfolio oversight.
• Work closely with professionals across investment, underwriting, legal, finance, and capital markets functions.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial real estate, lending, asset management, underwriting, valuation, servicing, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
• Understanding of commercial real estate fundamentals, debt structures, and loan documentation.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with loan servicing, construction lending, valuation, underwriting, or real estate accounting is beneficial but not required.
