About The Role
The Marketing Manager at Aramark plays a pivotal role in driving growth and customer engagement within the collegiate hospitality sector. The primary responsibility involves implementing and executing comprehensive marketing programs aligned with the 4 P’s of Marketing—Product, Price, Place, and Promotion—to support accelerated profitable growth, enhance consumer satisfaction, and strengthen client retention. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously, including pricing strategies, meal plan sales, and consumer engagement efforts. The Marketing Manager acts as a brand ambassador, representing both Aramark’s and the client’s branding elements, ensuring consistency and excellence across all touchpoints. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and student peer groups, the manager will develop and execute marketing plans tailored to specific account needs, monitor results, and continually optimize strategies to meet business objectives. The role also involves participating in new sales initiatives, contract renewals, and leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making and improve overall performance.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in product, program, or menu development within the food service industry. Experience in building marketing capacity and tools within complex sales environments is essential. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, nutrition, food science, or business is required. Strong project management skills are vital, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively within a matrix organization. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including compelling writing and presentation abilities, are necessary to engage stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in Photoshop or similar graphic design tools is preferred, facilitating the creation of marketing materials that resonate with target audiences. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive mindset, analytical thinking, and a passion for innovative marketing strategies that drive measurable results.
Responsibilities
Base Business Growth
Execute and implement strategies aimed at increasing sales, ensuring pricing accuracy, and driving mandatory and voluntary meal plan upgrades.
Coordinate with the District Marketing Manager and operations team to develop unit-specific marketing and communication plans, tracking and analyzing results to optimize performance.
Manage the sales process, ensuring accurate data entry into the Meal Plan Analytics database and maintaining effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
Identify and implement innovative solutions, including new products, services, and technology, to support sales growth and client retention.
Participate in DiningStyles and Voice of the Consumer initiatives, presenting findings and insights at team and client meetings each semester.
Team Development
Lead student peer-to-peer groups to promote meal plan upgrades and voluntary sales activities, ensuring sales targets are met.
Manage student marketing interns, overseeing logistics and graphic design tasks to support marketing campaigns.
Provide necessary training and support to ensure brand standards are upheld across all service points, fostering sustainable growth in sales and customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with the Collegiate Hospitality team to implement national programs and initiatives effectively.
Support frontline management with marketing, Service Excellence, and Suggestive Selling training programs to enhance service quality and sales performance.
New Sales and Account Retention
Participate actively in contract re-bid and extension processes, providing marketing insights and strategies to secure account renewals.
Assist regional marketing teams with strategic account reviews and engagement initiatives to foster ongoing client relationships and business growth.
