Description
The Investment Specialist is a dedicated investment resource for Point Wealth Management, supporting advisors and clients with portfolio implementation, investment analysis, capital markets insight, and client-facing investment communication. This role is designed for a technically strong investment professional who can translate market developments, portfolio strategy, and product considerations into clear recommendations and practical next steps for advisors and clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare investment proposals for new and existing clients, including portfolio recommendations, allocation updates, and supporting analysis aligned with advisor guidance and client objectives
• Conduct takeover analysis for prospective client portfolios, identifying current holdings, cost basis considerations, asset allocation, concentration risk, embedded tax considerations, fees, product structure, and transition opportunities
• Support trading activity and portfolio implementation, including trade preparation, account rebalancing support, investment model updates, tax loss harvesting and coordination with appropriate internal systems and resources
• Provide capital markets research and commentary to help advisors understand current market conditions, portfolio positioning, risks, opportunities, and client communication themes
• Develop weekly advisor talking points that summarize relevant market developments, investment themes, portfolio considerations, and suggested language for client conversations
• Create and coordinate a quarterly investment newsletter for clients and prospects, highlighting market updates, portfolio perspectives, planning considerations, and timely investment topics
• Participate in client meetings jointly with advisors to explain investment recommendations, portfolio positioning, performance context, market updates, and implementation considerations
• Handle investment-related client conversations by phone when appropriate, including questions about markets, portfolio changes, account activity, investment strategy, and proposal details
• Serve as a technical investment resource for the advisory team while maintaining appropriate role boundaries and escalating relationship management, planning, insurance, or advisory decision-making matters to the advisor
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required; finance, economics, accounting, business, or related field preferred.
• CFA designation preferred; progress toward the CFA designation is strongly valued.
• Series 7 required; must currently hold or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Experience with trading, portfolio implementation, investment operations, or investment analysis preferred.
• Capital markets experience, including the ability to interpret macroeconomic data, market trends, asset class performance, interest rate movements, and portfolio implications.
• Experience preparing investment proposals, portfolio reviews, client-ready analysis, or transition/takeover analysis.
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce advisor talking points, market commentary, and client-facing newsletter content.
• Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain investment concepts clearly and confidently in advisor-led meetings or investment-focused client calls.
• Proactive approach to anticipating advisor and client needs, following through on open items, and identifying opportunities to improve the client experience.
• High standards for delivering a polished, responsive, and client-centered experience in every interaction.
• Strong team player who collaborates effectively with advisors and operations partners, communicates clearly, and contributes to a positive, accountable team environment.
• High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a client-service-oriented environment.

• Full-time, in-office position (9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday)
