I'm looking for a rainmaker.
I run GlassFire, a video production company in Raleigh, NC. We've produced for Volvo, Google, Samsung, Paramount+, the NFL, and a long list of agency and Fortune 500 clients. The work is excellent. The pipeline is the problem.
Here's the truth: I'm a producer, not a salesperson. I'm at my best when I'm calling shows, solving technical problems, obsessing over the key light's diffusion through the lens, and delivering work that makes clients come back. What I'm not great at is the constant outreach, the follow-ups, the "just checking in" emails. That's where you come in.
I'm hiring a fractional VP of Business Development
. Someone who gets energy from the pitch and the close the same way I get energy from a clean show call. This is commission-heavy by design, because I want someone who bets on themselves and wins.
What the role looks like:
• 10–20 hours/week, remote with occasional travel
• Sell production services to agencies, corporate clients, and enterprise brands
• Build and work a pipeline, not a PowerPoint about a pipeline
• $2,500/month retainer + tiered commission (details below)
Who you are:
• You've sold production, AV, events, or creative services before
• You have a real network, not a LinkedIn connection count
• You'd rather pick up the phone than build another spreadsheet
• You understand the difference between a $15K corporate video and a $150K multi-day shoot
What I bring:
• A proven client roster (Fortune 500 names, agency relationships)
• A fully equipped studio in Raleigh (also functions as a rentable event space)
• Technical depth most production companies can't match (live event broadcast, nimble production, cinematic techniques)
• Fast turnaround on proposals and creative decks
• I handle fulfillment. You fill the calendar, I deliver the work
No cap on commission. The structure is tiered: 3–5% on projects (crew + gear). The more you sell, the more you make. At $75K–$100K/month in closed projects, you're looking at $100K+ annualized for part-time work.
This isn't a "build me a sales strategy" consulting gig. This is: find the work, close the work, get paid well for it.
